Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) corresponds to a group of affections of unknown origin that can affect different parts of the digestive tract (stomach, small intestine, large intestine). The most frequently reported symptoms are mainly diarrhea, but also weight loss, appetite disturbances and vomiting.

As described in studies published by Perez Merino et al., intravenous stem cell injections appear to be well tolerated and would lead to an improvement in the symptoms, intestinal lesions and blood biological parameters of sick animals. ^19, ^20, ²¹
As part of its clinical development program, Vetbiobank is initiating a clinical study to evaluate the efficacy of neonatal stem cells in this indication.
